About Us – Who are the Martial Arts Enthusiasts

Hello and welcome, dear readers. You might have already read our welcome post or one of our articles, so you know that we are big martial arts fans. What you might not know is if we actually practice any martial arts and how we even decided to create this blog.

We seek to change that by telling you everything about us in this section. Learn our deepest fears and desires, learn who our elementary school bully was, learn our social security numbers! You get the point. We are about to spill our beans on this page, so you know who your favorite bloggers are. And yes, we are always that humble.

Sit back and let us do the talking, because we have a lot to say and we had enough caffeine to say it!

Our Very Humble Beginnings

Being a kid in the 1980’s was a lot of fun, despite what you might have heard from bitter millennials online. You had fantastic new video games coming out every year, the best Happy Meals toys in history, and of course, coming of age movies that didn’t feature the discography for an obscure indie band on the backdrop of moody blue tones.

One such movie was Karate Kid (1984). An instant classic that defined a whole generation of young movie-goers that forever have the film embedded in their conscious. The thrill of seeing Daniel deliver his iconic front kick to defeat Johnny was certainly one of the highlights of the 1980’s.

All kids across America wanted to become the next Karate Kid and found themselves in dojos around the country. In fact, the film is credited for popularizing the martial art in the US and this is precisely how the creators of this blog met.

We were a bunch of kids who thought could master this centuries-old martial art in the span of two hours. After all, that’s how long the movie was. We couldn’t be more wrong, of course and we soon learn it.

Kids want something and they want it now, this will never change. All we wanted was to learn how to beat each other, without paying much attention to the philosophy of karate. Fortunately, our teacher was not only very patient, but also very inspiring and he showed us the true meaning of karate and made us appreciate all facets of it.

None of us became a professional martial artist, but we all kept our passion for karate in our hearts. Later on, we took upon other martial arts such as taekwondo and judo, which revealed to us yet another beautiful philosophy of life.

Our Blog

Okay, okay, enough sentimentality, we will soon run out of tissues. Let’s talk about the blog itself. You can already tell that we are nostalgic about this period of our lives that brought us together and made us who we are today.

We are sure we’re not the only ones who can tell you a similar story, but we are the ones who want to share it with the whole world with the hope that we can create friends groups like ours.

Our blog will give you the detailed history of various martial arts and tell you how they are practiced. We hope that the blog contents inspire you to explore martial art for yourself, either by enrolling in such classes or by simply reading about them and sharing this information with others.
